Backing up your self-custodial wallet is essential to ensuring your assets are secure and recoverable. Family’s own self-custodial wallet service, Pocket, lets you use an email address or phone number alongside a passkey or password to secure your wallet’s keys. Follow these steps to back up your wallet with Pocket.
How to Backup with an email address (logged-out)
Family Wallet allows you to back up your wallet using your email address. Here’s how:
- Tap your wallet, then tap the three dot icon to reveal a drop-down menu.
- Tap Wallet Settings.
- In your Wallet Settings, select Backup.
- Select Pocket.
- Enter the email address or phone number you have associated with your Pocket account.
- Enter the verification code sent to your email address or phone number.
- Use Face ID to sign in.
How to Backup with an email address (logged-in)
If you’re already logged into Pocket, backing up your wallet is even quicker. Here’s how:
- Tap your wallet, then tap the three dot icon to reveal a drop-down menu.
- Tap Wallet Settings.
- In your Wallet Settings, select Backup.
- Select Pocket.
- A pop-up tray will remind you that this wallet and its associated wallet group will be added to Pocket.
- Select Got it.
- Your wallet is now backed up with Pocket.
