Add wallet via iCloud

Last updated 28 days ago

Family lets you restore a wallet from iCloud backup to regain access to a wallet you previously used with Family. This is especially helpful if you have a new device or re-downloaded Family and want to still access your existing wallets. Once the backup is restored, your wallet becomes accessible from Family again, complete with all its associated data.

How to recover an existing wallet with iCloud

To recover an existing wallet with iCloud, you’ll need to enter your iCloud Backup password. Here’s how:

  1. Select Add an Existing Wallet.
  2. Select Restore.
  3. Enter your iCloud Backup password to view wallets available to restore and tap Continue.
  4. Choose which wallets you’d like to restore from your iCloud Backup.
  5. Tap Continue and Restore.
  6. Your wallet is now restored from iCloud.

Note: your iCloud Backup password in Family is completely separate to your Apple ID password. Your iCloud Backup password is specific to Family and chosen by you when first setting up iCloud Backups.
