In Family, the term Wallet Group is used to simplify the complexities associated with backups and security. A Wallet Group is a collection of individual wallet addresses that are generated and interconnected by a single Secret Recovery Phrase. Instead of managing multiple Private Keys for numerous wallets, a Wallet Group allows you to oversee a cluster of separate wallet addresses using just one recovery phrase.
How to create a new Wallet Group
Family allows you to group multiple wallets under a single Secret Recovery Phrase for easier management. Here’s how to create a new Wallet Group:
- To create a new wallet group, first press the
button at the top, to the right of Your Wallets. - Select Create New to create a fresh address with no previous history.
- Next, select New Group. Please note that you will only see this option if you already have at least two distinct Wallet Groups within Family already.
- Choose a nickname for your wallet. This name is only visible to you.
- Choose a color for your wallet. You can always edit the color later.
- Choose an avatar for your wallet. You can chose an image from your device, take a photo, use an emoji, or use an icon. After you set a displace image, tap Continue.
- Read and agree to the terms on the screen before you continue.
- After you’ve read and agreed to the terms, your wallet is ready.
