Family provides a set of browser settings that allow you to customize your browsing experience. From selecting your preferred search engine to managing how long your browser history is stored, these settings help you tailor your privacy and convenience while using browsing websites on the app.
How to change search engine
Customize the default search engine used when opening new tabs in Family. You can choose between Google, Yahoo, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Ecosia. Here’s how:
- In the Mission Control screen, tap the
settings icon to view Your Family. - Select Browser Settings.
- Tap “Google” or the three-dot hamburger icon to pull up the Search Engine tray.
- Select the Search Engine you prefer and then tap Save.
How to change browser history duration
You can choose the amount of time to save your browser history for, after which all history is deleted. This option helps you maintain your privacy by allowing you to control how long your browsing data is retained. Here’s how to change browser history duration:
- In the Mission Control screen, tap the settings icon to view Your Family.
- Select Browser Settings.
- Tap “30 Days” or the three-dot hamburger icon to pull up the Browser History tray.
- Select the Keep History duration you prefer, and then tap Save.
