Transaction Previews

Family has incorporated a suite of safety features such as Transaction Previews (also known as simulations), secure app connections, and secure message signings. These safety measures are present at every key interaction point within the app, providing you with a high degree of security and confidence in your operations.

About Transaction Previews

Family's Transaction Previews serve as a valuable pre-execution analysis tool. These simulations give you a preview of the transaction outcome, estimated gas fees, and potential risks. If serious risks are posed, you’ll be prompted to acknowledge and accept the risks multiple times before proceeding.

About secure app connections and message signings

Beyond transactions, Family ensures your digital security when you connect to decentralized apps (dApps) and sign messages. When connecting your wallet to a dApp, Family offers safety information to keep you informed about the app, such as whether the domain is verified, and its potential impact on your wallet. For message signings, Family provides you with details about the signing request, ensuring that you understand the implications before proceeding. This transparent approach extends your control and enhances your overall security when interacting with dApps and other entities.

Comprehensive safety measures

By embedding safety measures throughout your journey, from initiating transactions to signing messages and connecting to apps, Family provides an environment where security and convenience coexist. This holistic approach empowers you to navigate the world of Ethereum with a heightened sense of assurance, control, and peace of mind.

Transaction Requests

A blockchain is composed of transactions, which include actions like swapping tokens, buying collectibles, or interacting with smart contracts. It’s important to review transaction requests carefully before approving them. To enhance security and provide peace of mind, Family offers transaction previews (simulations) so you can review details before submitting a transaction.

About Transaction Requests

Transaction Requests are prompts for you to perform a specific action, such as transferring tokens or interacting with a smart contract. You typically initiate Transaction Requests by interacting with a dApp or wallet, which then generates a transaction to be signed and broadcast to the network for validation and inclusion in the blockchain.

Processing Transaction Requests

When you initiate a Transaction Request, Family will display the details of the transaction, such as the amount to be transferred and the Gas Fees associated with the transaction. You should carefully review these details before confirming the transaction. Once the transaction is signed and submitted, it will be added to the network’s transaction pool, where it awaits confirmation from validators.

Monitoring Transaction Status

After submitting a Transaction Request, you can monitor the status of your transaction using Family. Transactions may take some time to be confirmed, depending on the network’s current congestion and the gas price set by you. If a transaction takes longer than expected to confirm, Family will display an alert message, and you can attempt to speed up the process by increasing the gas price or canceling the transaction and resubmitting it with a higher gas price.
